Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist?
Prenatal and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialists bridge the gap between training and rehab. We approach pregnancy and childbirth-related issues such as diastasis recti (ab separation) and pelvic floor issues from a whole-body perspective. We have been trained to analyze posture and movement habits to see where there may be imbalances that are holding you back from progressing in your recovery. We can then teach corrective exercises to help you move properly, be less prone to injury, and to heal your core and pelvic floor faster!
Why should I consider rehab after pregnancy?
Pregnancy takes a rough toll on the body. During those months, your organs are rearranged, your core stretch to make room for baby and your pelvic floor muscles take on a tremendous amount of pressure to support all of these demands. Just like any other injury that your body sustains you would take the proper amount of time to rehab and recover. Postpartum is no different.
How soon after pregnancy can I start working with you?
According to the ACOG (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynocologists) If you had a healthy pregnancy and normal vaginal delivery you can begin exercising soon after baby is born- this can be a few days after birth or as soon as you feel ready. If you had a C-Section or complications, ask your provider.
What can I expect from a session with you?
I will cater to what you want and need! Our sessions can include education, strength training, corrective exercises, breath work, and much more.
Do you accept HSA/FSA/HRA payments?
In order to use one of these payment methods you will need to obtain a (Letter of Medical Necessity) LMN from your provider. If we are working on fixing an issue such as diastasis recti or prolapse we could list that as the condition for treatment. To see more details visit: HSA Store
